Iddoshe

Hi everyone! My name is Iddoshe. I majored in East Asian Studies at Harvard, and I'm a non-traditional medical student. After graduating from undergrad, I spent several years working in the private sector, mostly in Japan, plus a year and a half in London. In 2023, I moved to the Bay Area to complete postbacc studies, and before starting medical school worked for the San Francisco Department of Public Health investigating the feasibility of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for people with methamphetamine use disorder.

My own MCAT journey was a test of endurance. I spent months on passive content review, but I felt my performance stagnating. Four months before my test, I joined the Brem Method, which helped me hone in on high-yield topics and focus my studying. This was a game-changer for me as I was working full-time at same time I was preparing for the exam.

That experience is exactly why I became a tutor: I know firsthand how the MCAT can feel like an insurmountable obstacle standing between you and your dream of becoming a physician, especially when you're balancing it with work or other responsibilities.

I work best with students who, like me, are juggling the MCAT alongside a full life be that a job, extracurriculars, or other personal obligations and need a realistic game plan. In my experience, the students who improve fastest are the ones who come into the process with clear eyes: they're honest with themselves about where they stand and what needs work. I believe students improve on the MCAT not by grinding through everything equally, but by identifying the highest-yield gaps in their knowledge and building a strategy around their specific weaknesses.

When we work together, I’ll check in regularly to see how your studying is going and provide the high-level structure that can be hard to build on your own, especially when you're studying around a job or other commitments. My goal is to give you a clear framework so you're not left guessing on what to focus on next, while still checking in often enough that you stay accountable and on track. My students tend to describe my coaching style as warm and grounded. I want you to feel supported as you work through this process.

When I'm not studying, you'll usually find me with family or friends. I love playing tennis, lifting weights, and practicing yoga, and recently started learning to row crew. I'm looking forward to working with you soon!
